Honda CBR600F series CBR600F-F2 The CBR600F-F2 had an oil assisted tensioner. For whatever reason Honda used a paper gasket on the F and a layered metal gasket on the F2. I think it is because the metal gasket restricts the oil flow changing the force on the OEM tensioner. They did not supercede the paper gasket, so I carry both. The kit comes wtih the paper gasket. I do not think there is any reason to go with the metal one, since the manual tensioner has no need for any oil flow, blocking off the passage and the paper gasket will be sufficient to seal the flow. For those who want it, for an extra $7.00 I will send the metal one. It will allow a small amount of oil flow through the small slot you see on it in the picture. As said, the paper one will not allow any flow, but since that is essentially like a leak, that is no issue. The kit is $30.00 plus shipping and includes the new fasteners, gasket, instructions, and a couple of good quality stickers for the bike that I hope the rider will display with pride. CBR600F3-F4i The CBR600F3, F4, and F4i along with the CB599 Hornet use the same tensioner as the VTR1000 Superhawk/Firestorm, as does the CBR900RR from 1992 through 1999 as the 900 and the 919. Email me at kriegercct@clems-garage.com to get a price including shipping. It includes the new fasteners, a gasket, instructions, and a couple of good quality stickers for the bike too. |
